C2 2025: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE WITH THE OLD C2 VERSION???

Intro

  • This review unit was sent directly from China by Tin Hifi directly. So I would like to say thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to review it.
  • Disclaimer in this review I use full stock eartips & cables and FIIO KA15 dongle dac as the source. This review is also subjective from what I felt during 3 days of intensive use.

User Experience

  • First of all, in terms of its completeness, this C2 2025 is honestly almost no different from the old C2 in terms of its completeness. The only difference is the cable which is braided & seems more flexible than the old C2. As for the eartips, I still find them okay to use even though they are not very comfortable, so for this IEM I recommend using aftermarket eartips for more comfort.
  • The build quality is also almost not much different apart from the cable mentioned earlier. Because the iem can be said to be 100% similar to the old C2.
  • Yes, because the shape of the housing is similar to the old C2, so in terms of fitting it is similar to the old version. Yes, for me who has ears that are quite friendly to many forms of iem, this C2 2025 is still considered fine-fine even though it is not as good as hola or yume 2.
  • Lastly, for the potential problem, I suggest using at least a dongle like ks01 & do not recommend using a cellphone directly. As an illustration, I use KA15 in jack 3.5 SE low gain & non-desktop mode, to bring out its potential it must be at least with a volume of around 50-60%.

Sound quality

  • This iem is actually not much different from the previous version for me. Not like the previous version which was a bit bright & this version is the warm version. Well, in my opinion it's not like that, this version is more about giving a slight difference in several sectors for me.
  • From the bass, the C2 2025 is more like a little added quantity & the subbass is a little deeper than the old C2 version. The rest can be said to be similar to the old version.
  • For the mids, it also feels similar to the old one in terms of weight & presentation. Only a little maybe like the vocals are not as intense & safer from the sibilance of the old C2.
  • For the treble, it can also be said that there is almost no difference. In terms of presentation, it is still energetic, the details & extensions are still good. Maybe the old C2 feels a little more sharp sensation, while the C2 2025 is safer.
  • For the technicalities, it is also similar, for the price it is included as a good one. The soundstage is quite wide, the micro details are quite good, the separation & layering are also quite neat & the resolution is good.

Comparison

  • C2 2025 vs EPZ Q1 Pro: The bass of the C2 feels better in extension, the subbass feels deeper than the Q1 pro. For the vocals, Q! pro feels more advanced, more appropriate weight, sweeter. While in C2 2025 the vocals feel a little thinner but feel clearer & a little clearer. For the treble, C2 2025 is clearly better, especially from its extension which is better & more airy. For the technicalities, both are still the same for me. The soundstage is still wider in Q1 pro, only in C2 2025 it feels more balanced. The details, the resolution are also slightly better in C2 2025.

Who is C2 2025 Suitable for?

  • For those who need an all-rounder iem, yes because in my opinion this iem is classified as an all-rounder & is able to accommodate many genres except genres that require really big bass.
  • For those who need an iem with good tonal but still get good technicalities at a relatively cheap price plus this iem is still relatively easy to drive using a cheap source.

 Conclusion

Tin Hifi C2 2025 is the latest iem from Tin Hifi which is intended to be the successor to the previous C2. Can this iem be said to be different or an upgrade from the previous version? For me, no, you could say that this iem only brings a little variation in some parts of the previous version. So for me, the C2 2025 is just a little refresh from the old C2 version. So if you have an old C2 & want to buy this version, for me it's better to just stay. But if you don't have the old version, I recommend buying this version rather than the older version.
