I've been using it for a day and so far I am impressed. It sounds neutral-ish with a hint of warmth. It's built well and I like the transparent glass even if it is a fingerprint magnet. So far I haven't experienced any issues. The only small "problem" is that it came with a lightning to USBC cable (ordered USBC to USBC instead).
Advantages:
Very well built, solid, no loocse buttons
Nice neutral renderings, competitive fir Virtus-based DACs ar $50-$80.
Build-in microphone is a good asset for an universal dongle.
Limitations:
Among other dongles, I have Tempotec BHD pro that is at par and slightly prefer it.
Two glass surfaces that are not finger print resistant.
The balanced output envoking Genini without microphones is plain wrong - should be a different software.
This ruined my experience with this dongle (subjective) and was the reason not to review and share my experience on HeadFi.
The CCZ Harmony BC01 Pro offers a lively, warm V-shaped tuning with strong sub-bass, clear female vocals, and smooth treble. It’s comfortable, lightweight, and easy to drive from a phone. Technical performance is decent for the ~$30 range, though it can sound congested in complex tracks and has a noticeable treble roll-off.
I wanted to try it just because I read a lot of good things about TRI Clarion. I am glad that I tried. I have warmer tuned IEM that needed a bit of sparkle / open sounding. With TRI Clarion - it brings more treble to my ears and made IEM sing even more nicely (Tangzu Wan'er SG 2) It is my easy listening IEM, and made it sound even bette
This is the essential accessory for the IEM -it prevents dust or ear wax to mess with IEM's internal - but more importantly it looks cool. To my ear, it did not change tuning, and I can simply apply over the existing net. So why not have an added protection and astatic upgrade.
Some things changing ear tips may be the last thing one should consider - but for me KT02 can be the first thing to start. I love this eartips as it widens sound stage for my case, and fits perfectly with CCZ CZ10's longer nozzle. What's great is that as it is very elastic (sticky) it tightly fits in my ear. Of course the down side is for me to keep it clear often, but that's a small price to pay. I highly recommend KBEAR KT02 for IEM with longer stems and users that needs all tip size to see which one fits the best. to my surprise I am using XS and S as the nozzle can go quite deep..
I purchased this as an upgrade cable for my KBear Rosefinch IEM. This is a very good cable for the price. Does not tangle, no memory, and not microphonic. The weight is great for portable listening, not too thin but not too heavy. I would definitely buy this cable again.
