Foreword

With the overwhelming response the GK-KUNTEN has garnered, there were still a lot of people who wished it was that good, for that price - but with a more V-shaped response.

With that, I think CCA has answered us.

***Reviewer’s Note***
My judgement on how an IEM sounds will always be done with a relative comparison based on it’s MSRP. Technical aspects such as dynamics, staging, imaging, and detail retrieval is as equally important as the general tuning of the IEM.
More importantly, this is a hobby which everyone has different preferences. Although I try to be as objective as possible, I do not dare to say I can be 100% unbiased.

How Does It Sound?

Tested with :

  • Hiby R6 iii (2025)
  • Ifi GO Bar Kensei
  • Hidizs AP80 Pro Max
  • MacBook M3 Pro

First Impressions

  • The CCA-Xyraa comes off as a standard V-shaped IEM with significantly good clarity
  • Tonality of the IEM is quite neutral and feels slightly more abrasive than t KUNTEN

Bass

  • Bass on the Xyraa is quite punchy and provides a good heft and volume to it
  • Subbass provides a good amount of rumble with some good lean overtones
  • Lower and midbass provides good body and depth for those low end hits
  • Note definition for the price is not one to complain about - with good recognition of bass licks and notes
  • Overall provides a good balance between fun and technical, and provides the foundation to the ambience of tracks
  • Occasional bass hum? present which essentially bleeds into the mids, but with the good separation, makes it not entirely felt like it's bleeding over

Vocals

  • Vocals give you a good sense of structure and presence
  • Tonality and timbre is neutral, with quick crisps here and there
  • Female vocals occasionally might feel sharp or sibilant, specifically J-pop

Midrange

  • Instruments give a feathery and light recreation that is easily digestible manner
  • Strings feel warm and have a good tonal recreation that feels natural
  • Pianos, keys, are feeling more dominant in terms of energy with a more realistic tone
  • Vocal ensembles resonates with the low end, giving an extremely full experience
    • Do take note with this - you might feel like there is more low-end carrying the overall track sometimes, like what mentioned in the bass region

Treble

  • Treble response is fast and sprakly
  • Hi-Hats have a slight tinny ending overtone to it
  • Cymbals and rides are quite clear and provides a good amount of extension
  • Snares and rimshots sound quick and provides a bright tone to it
  • Foleys and microdetails in this region presents itself with ease

Technical Highlights
For the price, the Xyraa does what its expected.

  • Dynamics of this IEM is quite important to take note, as there is a significant jump in emphasis of low-end at a certain volume at normal hearing levels. With that said, finding a perfect balance can prevent excessive amounts of bass hums and resonance to pollute the mids and up
  • Soundstage is slightly less wide compared to the Kunten, but provides good positioning and imaging, with more structure at the far ends of L and R
  • Detail retrieval of the Xyraa is more fundamental - with its focus more towards macro-resonance in the midrange, and microdetails mainly live more on the upper frequencies. Doesn't disappoint and provides it well.

Final Thoughts
As with my sentiments on the GK-Kunten, you seriously can’t complain with what you’re getting with this. Fun and strong bass, crispy presentation, this thing is what I saw some people WISHED the Kunten was, and I guess CCA has delivered.

I'd like to thank CCA for sending these over for an honest review.
