KBEAR Glint General Comments

Nowadays, we can find high purity copper wire materials such as 6N, 7N, and even 8N, but 5N purity may not be considered outstandingly high. However, the orthodox wire structure of silver-plated OFC (oxygen-free copper) is expected to be easy to handle.

I chose the QDC version and used it with the KZ ZA12 that I recently reviewed.

Combination with KZ ZA12

When I set the ZA12's sound quality adjustment switch to "1111" and listened to an EDM-type track in combination with Glint, I enjoyed the sinking of the bass range, but I also felt a slightly peculiar sound in the treble range. The treble extension is good; the ZA12 sounds "high resolution" (although I haven't used it much), and I decided to try it later with the TRN Conch as well, as it sounds very informative.

Compared to the previously used NICEHCK S77, Glint seems to have a better bounciness in the bass of ZA12, but I felt that the NICEHCK S77 had more bass depth. The overall smoothness and sense of reverberation is more in S77, while Glint is orthodox OFC with silver plating, and although it has a high sense of detail in the high frequencies, the sound is a bit more angular compared to OCC (mono-crystalline high purity oxygen-free copper).

I think the informative nature of ZA12 is well brought out by the use of Glint.Considering the price of Glint, which is about 2,300 yen (with a coupon discount from 2,300 yen), we can say that it is a cost effective solution.

Practicality of KBEAR Glint

Glint is an easy-to-use cable for everyday use.The feel of the cable is thicker than it looks, and the handling is not particularly good. However, it is not particularly noisy to the touch, and its thickness is at a level that is comfortable for use in the city.

Combination with TRN Conch

We also tried it with TRN Conch and got the impression that the sound is extended enough and can be used on a daily basis. There are no major features worth mentioning, but the treble is extended, and there is no major distortion in the sound or faintness in the treble range, and I feel that it is a sufficient upgrade.

KBEAR Glint General Comments

In terms of grade, they are comparable to the cables that are included with the purchase of expensive earphones. These cables are useful if you want to use affordable Chinese earphones with a slightly better cable that extends only the high frequencies with a little more clarity, without significantly changing the original sound quality trend.

This is my review of the KBEAR Glint 5N oxygen-free copper silver plated upgrade cable. It is a very easy-to-use entry-level upgrade cable.
